Former CFO, Concerro
Derek Quackenbush is a finance and operations executive with 20-years of diverse experience helping drive the growth of exciting companies in healthcare IT, software development, entertainment, and publishing, which have ranged in size from start-up to Fortune 100.
Most recently, Derek was the CFO at Concerro, Inc., an Inc. 500/5000 Software-as-a-Service provider of workforce management and incident command systems to hospitals that was acquired by API Healthcare Inc. in February 2012. Derek was instrumental in growing Concerro’s revenue from $2M to $17M and its client base to over 500 acute care hospitals (~10% of the U.S. market).
Prior to Concerro, Derek had held senior positions with New Times Media (now Village Voice Media), Infogrames North America (now Atari), and Sony, both at Sony Computer Entertainment America and Sony Online Entertainment. Derek started his career at Ernst & Young.
Derek is involved in the community as a member of the Board of Governors and the Finance and Audit committees of the San Diego Foundation, a $600M community foundation with charitable grants of $50M+ annually. Derek is also a participant in the San Diego Venture Group, San Diego Tech Founders, the CFO Roundtable, and HFMA. In 2009, Derek was a finalist for the San Diego Business Journal’s CFO of the year.
Also notable, Derek took some time off to earn a certificate in audio engineering from the Los Angeles Recording School and to work as an assistant engineer at Paramount Recording Group, one of the largest commercial recording facilities in Los Angeles.
